43rd WOCN 2011 – New Orleans Convention Center, June 5-7
New Orleans played host to the recent WOCN national conference and Trio were delighted to show their products
for the first time to U.S. healthcare professionals at the prestigious event.
Across Europe and beyond, Trio's products are widely understood and used but this event sparked amazement
for many American nurses. One WOCN saw Niltac™ for the first time and commented, 'This is amazing! It's like
magic! I need to have this now'.
Speaking after the event, Trio's CEO – Ben Curtis – said 'It is rare to find anything genuinely exciting and
ground-breaking at conference and the incredible reactions of nurses and ostomates shouldn't surprise us –
but they always do! WOCNs were seeing and feeling the difference that 100% silicone skin care can make to
the daily lives of their patients'.
Niltac™, Silesse™ and Diamonds™ have contributed to essential daily care for patients in more than twenty
countries and for nearly five years. The enormous patient benefits are now available to patients across the
United States of America through suppliers and even directly from thetrioshop.com.
The team at Trio are looking forward to 'improving daily care and quality of life' when they meet the many
ostomates and healthcare professionals at this year's UOAA conference in Reno, August 7-11. Please come
and meet the team and experience our products first hand.
ECET 2011 – European success for Trio
Convatec met nurses from across Europe last month at the European Council Enterostomal Therapists (ECET) congress in Italy, gaining feedback from clinicians and learning how their products are making the lives of patient's better across the region.
Handing out almost 800 sample bags and brochures the stand was busy throughout the conference.
Laurens Hoogmans, Convatec's Territorial Manager for Europe, said:
"Nurses unfamiliar with our products also came to the stand because they knew that our products improve patient's quality of life and that they would be really essential to a patient's daily routine."
The ECET is a biennial special event for multidisciplinary exchange between enterostomal nurses and physicians from all over Europe and is an opportunity to share the professional growth and progress recently achieved in enterostomy.
It took place in Bologna on 13-15 June. Contact us for more information.
Trio given Royal seal of approval
Just five years after being founded, Convatec Group Ltd, has joined the UK's business elite to be
awarded the Queen's Award for their outstanding achievements in international trade, after quadrupling their export earnings over the last three years.
Manufacturing a range of life-changing medical products, Convatec's medical dressing removal products, skin barriers and gelling and odour control sachets are now used by patients across the globe.
They are used to prevent serious skin conditions resulting from prolonged or permanent contact with medical
adhesive products, where fragile skin is prone to breakdown and infection.
The award - the most prestigious for UK businesses - puts the company among the most successful in the UK,
with an export network that spans over 20 countries across Europe, South Africa, the Middle East, South East
Asia and the USA.
Trio's Directors, John Chacksfield and Lloyd Pearce, will attend a reception with the Queen at Buckingham Palace
on July 14th. Speaking about the accolade, Group Chairman John Chacksfield, said: "We're delighted. Our team has worked tirelessly to make the company a success; developing a robust international strategy and creating a network of trusted distributors around the world, so to gain recognition for this is a real pleasure and a credit to our hard work."
Working with Medilink Yorkshire and Humber and UK Trade & Investment to develop their international reach, all
Trio's distributors are exclusively appointed to penetrate export markets and the company ensures each one becomes
an integral part of its global team.
With the addition of several new products to its portfolio and having recently opened a US division of the business,
the company is planning to double its export turnover in the next year.
